UMO

The following symbols and their relations represent the Upmost Meta Ontology (UMO) (Figure UMO). It is mainly based on the Aristotle Ontology and  Ontological Sextet and enhances it by the concepts of relations and relators. The symbols stand for:

  • ^   ^Class, ^Category, ^Universal (something, which can have attributes)
  • <>  ◊Relation, ◊Relativum, ◊Nexus (connects different instances of subjects and objects)
  • >   >IndividualInstance, >Particular, >Perdurant
  • .   .DataProperty, internal Attribute (e.g. .Name, .Length)
  • .  Transparent Data Property (TDP) (e.g. .∆warm-blooded, .∆offroadCapable)
  • .^^ Meta Data Property (MDP) (e.g. .^^Particulars, .^^createdDate)
  • .^ Universals Data Property (UDP) (e.g. .^sold, .^maxSpeed)
  • _   PropertyValue (e.g. "January", TRUE, "solid")
  • °   °Process, °Activity, °Occurent
  • ~   ~Function (ongoing Activity, true fact)
  • >°  >°ProcessInstance (e.g. building the Eiffeltower)
  • >>  >>Relator, represents n-ary relationships between >Instances and other concepts
